APJ ABDUL KALAM PASSES AWAY ON 27th JULY,2015

Shillong: India's most loved former president APJ Abdul Kalam passed away on Monday after he suddenly fell ill during an event in Shillong.


The 84-year-old president breathed his last at 6:40 PM following a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong. Kalam, who loved to interact with students and encourage them to work for the country, passed away while interacting to students.

A.P.J Abdul Kalam Biography( Missile Man of India)

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born in India on October 15, 1931, Tamil Nadu, India, usually referred as Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam^, was the eleventh President of India, serving from 2002 to 2007.Due to his unconventional working style, he is also popularly known as the People's President. Before his term as India's president, he distinguished himself as engineering visionary and was awarded India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 1997 for his work with DRDO and his role as scientific advisor to the Indian government. He is popularly known as the Missile Man of India for his work on development of ballistic missile and space rocket technology. In India he is considered a progressivementor, innovator and visionary. Kalam played a pivotal organizational, technical and political role in India's Pokhran-IInuclear test in 1998, the first since the original nuclear test by India in 1974.

Kalam's probable views on certain issues have been espoused by him in his book India 2020 where he strongly advocates an action plan to develop India into a knowledge superpower and into adeveloped nation by the year 2020. Kalam is credited with the view that India ought to take a more assertive stance in international relations; he regards his work on India's nuclear weapons program as a way to assert India's place as a futuresuperpower.

In 2002, India's ruling National Democratic Alliance helped him win election against the country's former president, Kocheril Raman Narayanan; Kalam became India's 11th president, a largely ceremonial post, in July 2002. On July 27, 2015 Kalam suffered from a massive heart attack while lecturing at the Indian Institute of Management and subsequently died at the age of 83.

LOVE LEGENDS OF PUNJAB -SAASI PUNNU

Sassi Punnu
Sassi Punnu is one of the seven popular tragic romances of the Sindh and four of the most popular in Punjab.
SASSI 
 Sassi was the daughter of King Adamkhan of Bhambour. At her birth the astrologers predicted that she was a curse for the royal family's prestige. The king ordered that the child be put in a wooden chest with a 'taweez' tied on her neck and thrown into the river Chenab. the washer man of Bamboon village. The dhobi believed the child was a blessing from God and took her home and adopted her as his child. Many, many years passed by and the king did not have another child, so he decides to get married again. When he heard that the daughter of Atta, the washer man, was as beautiful as the angels, the king summoned her to the palace. Sassi was still wearing the tabiz (amulet), which the queen mother had put around her neck when she was taken away to be drowned.

Punnun Khan, the son of King Mir Hoth Khan (Hoth, a famous Baloch tribe in Makran (Balochistan).

When Sassi became a young girl, she was as beautiful as the fairies of heaven. Stories of her beauty reached Punnu and he became desperate to meet Sassi.

roundi na dhardi daah.
ohde gal vich julfan khulliyan ,
bhaji jandi vaho dah."


"Sassi suti uthi sej to ,
oh labhdi punnu yaar .
ohne chaar chufera dekhea ,
kite disda ni dildaar."


Punnu’s brothers
Punnu’s father and brothers were against the his marriage to Sassi (Punnu being a prince and she being a washerman’s daughter), and so, for their father’s sake, Punnu’s brothers traveled to Bhambhoor.

The next morning, when Sassi realized that she was cheated, she became mad with the grief of separation from her lover and ran barefoot towards the town of Kich Makran.

These are very few animated reactions from girls who had recently enjoyed all-girls’ parties at different places. At these parties they dance, sing, mimic, act naughty, in short they have a ball.


These all-girl parties are usually “bachelorette parties,” held as a celebration for a bride-to-be or a prenuptial party. Termed as “a last chance” of pure, unadulterated, independent fun — this is day you say goodbye to your singlehood. Obviously, you want to spend it with your friends having no-holds barred fun. What till now was the domain of boys — a bachelor or stag party thrown by the would-be groom’s friends to enjoy what was termed as life’s last free days — now has women joining the trend with gusto and having separate pre-marital parties!

PSTET will be conducted on 9th June, 2013

The most awaited Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2013 has been rescheduled by the Government of Punjab due to IAS Preliminary Examination dates closing with it. Now the Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2013 will be conducted on 9th June, 2013 by SCERT Punjab and Punjab Education Department. 

Earlier the Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2013 was scheduled to 26th May, 2013. The other side, Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test will be conducted on 1 & 2 June, 2013

As per the source  the online registration process would start on April 17, 2013 and the last date of receipt of online application would be May 13, 2013, whereas department would upload the admit cards information on May 27, 2013.

PTC Punjabi Film Awards Winners List 2013

The PTC Punjabi Filmi Awards 2013 were held on Friday evening at a glittering entertainment extravaganza attended by a galaxy of stars  from Punjabi Films and Bollywood, and the crème de la crème of celebrities at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Mohali. An enthralled audience of 6000 watched engrossed, as spectacular entertainment acts interspersed the presentation of 28 awards. 

Diljit Dosanjh won Best Actor, Neeru Bajwa bagged Best Actress, and Anurag Singh won Best Director, all for the year's biggest blockbuster, Jatt n Juliet, which  bagged the highest number of popular awards, seven. Mirza - The Untold Story, which bagged 6 popular and 1 critics awards, and Carry on Jatta, with 4 popular and 2 critics awards, were in second and third place respectively.
